Ok so when I said I would do better about blogging...I lied. 2013 will be different! I promise...I think...no really. But here is what had been going on with us lately (compliments of the ole' iPhone):

A Surprising Year

Friday, after an awesome "work party" I headed home where I was told to change as we were going to dinner downtown with Sarah and Whitner. Blair would not tell me where we were going and I started to whine (for lack of a better term) because I wanted to make sure that I would get to see Bev and Megan and our other friends. Blair's frustration growing, we headed over to Sarah and Whit's house and SURPRISE!!! All of our friends were on the back porch, having successfully pulled off an awesome surprise.

Saturday we headed to Spartanburg to cheer on the tenacious Terriers to a big win, sending them to the play-offs. Cookie cake compliments of our friend Sara and paratroopers landing on the field at halftime made for quite the Saturday (Not to mention a stellar win for the Bulldogs, sorry cousin Sean)!

The Big 2-6

Tomorrow is my birthday! I love birthdays. Yes, even my own. Maybe that's selfish but I think birthdays are great way to celebrate a person and remind yourself how special it is to have that person in your life (cough Blair cough). Kidding...sort of.

Exactly. (Image via)

Thank you to the year of the 2-5. I know 26 will be just as wonderful. Blair claims to have the plans for tomorrow night taken care of (I will keep you posted) and then tomorrow its up to Sparkle City to cheer on the Terriers and a visit from dear ole' dad on Sunday. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Election Day...1860

Sooo after doing some extensive [maybe an exaggeration] online research, I have determined that the movie Lincoln is released in some theaters on my birthday, which is this coming Friday for all of you wondering. It is the new Steven Spielberg movie with Daniel Day Lewis starring as President Lincoln and Sally Fields playing poor, misunderstood Mary Todd. See ya there fellow movie-goers!

So, yes, I absolutely want totally geek out and go see it. I am sure that is not Blair (or anyone's) ideal Friday night but it is my birthday...

Thanks for reading and happy election day!

Our First Visit to Tiger Town

A few weeks ago a group of friends rented a lake house at Lake Keowee and traveled to Clemson on Saturday for the Virginia Tech game. Last year we were lucky enough to go to several Clemson games with Sarah and Whitner but this year with lots of cause for celebration [weddings] and a busy work schedule for Blair [beer festivals], this was our first visit for the 2012 season and it didn't disappoint!

Leaving Clemson with a Tiger victory it was back to the lake house to witness a stunning sunset. I am not one to typically love taking pictures of nature, things, etc. (mainly because my trusty ole' little digital camera cannot do them justice) but this was unreal.

Spending today cheering on the Tigers, Bulldogs, Terriers, and maybe by the time the LSU game starts I will have decided who to pull for. Happy Saturday-ing!

HHI for Mr. & Mrs. Thie

Blair had to work at a beer festival this weekend (I use the term "work" loosely) and I traveled down to Hilton Head to spend some time with my mom and aunt and uncle and see one of my very first Wofford friends tie the knot.

I arrived in HHI Friday right around dinner time and after a delicious meal and a good night's sleep I was ready for the normal HHI activities. That means a morning run, going out to breakfast (hence the run), shopping, and then lots of quality "lounge" time. Before I knew it, it was time to get ready for Sarah Beth and Doug's wedding.

I met Doug the summer before our freshman year and it was such a special feeling to sit there among their family and friends to see Sarah Beth and Doug become husband and wife. They are a terrifically nice couple and it was an honor to be a part of their day.

Reunited with Nancy!

Love is in the [Crisper] Air

Last weekend we celebrated Cally and Dave with several of our friends. It was definitely a "kids" party (Football games and some Nicki Manaj included, I don't hate it) and everyone had a blast. Its hard to believe that their big day is a little more than a month away, time really is flying by!

They got married in Calhoun, GA right on the lake and despite an early fall chill in the air it was a beautiful wedding and so in tune with their personalities.
